The Perfect Summer Bottle

GIFT

I was delighted to have received the most thoughtful gift from Veuve Clicquot. Sitting in a personalised bag was a colourful beach towel, bottle of Veuve Clicquot Rich and some unique ice cube moulds to make a refreshing drink perfect for this Summer. If you’re still deciding on how to celebrate Christmas - this is the perfect drink to host any celebration with your nearest and dearest.

In the history of Champagne, wines that were blended for greater sweetness were customarily described as « Rich ». In Russia, consumers would add sugar to their champagne, thus adding a personal touch to their wine.

The Rich blend is comprised of Pinot Noir (45%), the main pillar of Veuve Clicquot’s winemaking, which gives the champagne its fundamental structure. The large part of Meunier (40%) provides roundness to the blend and Chardonnay (15%) completes it with extra freshness. For Rich Rosé, the blend is completed with 15% Pinot Noir red wine.

Rich’s uniqueness is in its dosage of 60 g/L, which enhances the blend’s aromas. As Veuve Clicquot’s Cellar Master shares, “Sugar in champagne is like spices in a recipe: used correctly it can bring out specific aromas and play with flavors.

The fruit aromas in Veuve Clicquot RICH and RICH ROSÉ has been boosted to sensational new levels. Veuve Clicquot’s signature Pinot Noir is given a new versatility with the higher dosage, while the greater presence of Meunier emphasizes fresh, fruity, gourmand notes.

Veuve Clicquot collaborated with skilled mixologists to select the perfect ingredients to naturally enhance the wines’ flavors, while adding a unique twist. The signature notes in Veuve Clicquot RICH wine are magnified by the presence of chosen ingredients: pineapple, grapefruit zest, cucumber, celery, peppers or tea – all on the rocks. Alongside Maison oenologists, Veuve Clicquot RICH ROSÉ has been paired with its own complements, to bring out its characteristic red fruit notes: ginger, pineapple, lime, tea – all on the rocks.
