Bistrot Gavroche

I decided to catch up with Brennie and Darren this week over an intimate dinner at Bistrot Gavroche. This intimate French bistro is located in the heart of Sydney and is now serving up a Parisian seafood set menu paired with a variety of delicate Pommery rosés, blancs and my absolute favourite - the Grand Cru 2006.

Upon walking in I immediately noticed the beautiful contrast of wood & brass set against a warm ambience of dark furniture imported from France. The soft music helped to set the scene & I felt at ease. The rustic seafood menu contained all the classic dishes and after a delicious complimentary sourdough & butter entree we indulged in a beautiful crab thermidor & lobster bisque, followed by the main of Petuna Trout à l'Oseilla and ended the meal with a lovely dessert of figue with ginger bread ice cream and double cream!

These simple dishes involve a lot of cooking technique. The service is friendly, efficient & professional and I honestly cannot fault the great wine list! I cannot wait to return to Bistrot Gavroche for another delicious meal. Thank you for kicking off our weekend with this beautiful dinner. I look forward to dining with you again!
