Monday Musings
I've recently adopted a vegetarian diet (and by recent I mean two months). This means eliminating all forms of meat including chicken and fish from my diet and adopting a lifestyle based on fruit, nuts, whole grains, plants and dairy. Having returned from my 10 day trip in America where I was surrounded by copious amounts of overly processed foods, sugary desserts and artificially flavoured soft drinks really encouraged me to embark on a clean, vegetarian diet for 90 days.
A challenge I face on the weekends is eating out socially with friends. During weekdays I tend to cook from home and I am able to whip up healthy and tasty meals from my kitchen, however when venturing outside, vegetarian options are quite limited. Here are two restaurants which I discovered via DIMMI which cater to both vegetarians as well as meat lovers. See my reviews below!
1. THE POTTING SHED
MAIN COURSE
DESSERT
ADDRESS
7A, 2 Huntley St, Alexandria NSW 2015
2. VINE DOUBLE BAY
This Sunday I decided to pay the Vine Double Bay a visit! The minimal decor and textured tableware were absolutely incredible. My highlights of the lunch included the beet salad, truffle mushroom risotto, as well as the gnocchi with wild mushrooms were the absolute best I've ever had!
I'm so happy that the restaurant didn't disappoint and would happily give a 10 out of 10 on Dimmi with my personal review!
In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
