Shortstop Coffee & Donuts
Being the massive donut fanatic that I am - I have been patiently waiting to make a trip to Shortstop Coffee & Donuts in Barangaroo since it's opening this year!
I wouldn't recommend driving there as there isn't much street parking around. I was actually lucky enough to find a tight 30 minute park in which I managed to dash in and out of the store with half a dozen donuts in hand. I would highly recommend getting the maple walnut and brown butter donut & the Australian honey and sea salt cruller! SO. GOOD. However, I did find the texture of the donuts a little cake-like and I wasn't the biggest fan of the burnt caramel, fennel & sea salt donut. The fennel really overpowered the burnt caramel and sea salt texture and it left my tastebuds feeling slightly confused.
But still...A perfect afternoon pick-me-up if you're on a sugar low. Give it a go if you haven't already.
In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
