Café Babylon Sydney

Tucked away in the upper levels of Chatswood, this luxe, minimalist cafe serves up a delectable selection of flaky croissants and aromatic coffee. Babylon’s clean aesthetic is consistent throughout the cafe’s entire space, making it hard to ever say goodbye. From the clean signage and welcome mat greeting you at the bottom of the stairway entrance to the warm friendly barista behind the concrete countertop; you’ll find yourself right at home.

We popped in early on a Monday morning and were pleasantly surprised to have the place to ourselves. However, as this hidden gem is rapidly becoming a local favourite, be sure to arrive early on a weekday to avoid the crowds. Ideal for those peckish for a small bite before work, or for University students looking to get a couple of solid study hours in - Babylon will quickly make its way to the top of your go-to favourites list.

The Cafe itself is neighbouring to the Babylon Display Suite, a new apartment complex emerging in Rouse Hill. Babylon’s foundation is built on three core pillars of elegance, subtlety and generosity. So it wasn’t a surprise to find that it’s sister Cafe next door strongly reflects this ethos.

Despite being quite an intimate space, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide an abundance of natural light, complimenting the pulled back interiors perfectly. Simple touches like textured concrete flooring, natural wood chairs, subtle floating lights and a tasteful selection of lush flora elevate the inviting atmosphere. The best part? You won’t need to worry about having to wait around for ‘the table’ with the good lighting for your Instagram snap - as the vast New York style windows let plenty of natural light flood the tables.

Don’t let the interiors deceive you, the food is on par with the aesthetics. Babylon prides itself on a small, curated menu of freshly brewed coffee, cold beverages and selection of light, flaky pastries

One trip here and the standard for your daily coffee runs will be changed forever. You’re welcome!
