An Exclusive Tour of the Louis Vuitton Maison
Today I visited the Sydney Louis Vuitton Maison in Darling Point. Being an avid fan of this French fashion house and luxury retail company which was founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton - I was in absolute awe of the detailing.
Dave and I were warmly welcomed by Victor who whisked us away to the secret location in Darling Point via a private car transfer. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a picturesque view of the ocean and a warm cup of coffee (served in an LV cup of course!) and some deliciously prepared canapés.
We were given a comprehensive guide around the two storey LV maison which was elaborately decorated with Louis Vuitton objects, wall art, bags and luggage trunks. The original atelier has been expanded throughout the decades—including the addition of the Vuitton family residence—but it is still where products are crafted today.
While the family home has been preserved and is part of a private museum, 170 craftsmen work in the Asnières workshop, designing and creating leather goods and special orders for clients around the world.
A special thank you to the beautiful team at the Maison for having me.
In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
