Day 1: Audi Hamilton Island Race Week
EVENT & TRAVEL
I was incredibly humbled and honoured to have been invited to Audi Hamilton Island Race Week this year with my partner for the weekend. Hamilton Island's population of 4800 people, including visitors – rises to about 5600 people during this annual race week.
After a quick 2.5 hour flight I was transported from the dark and gloomy weather in Sydney to the bright and sunny weather of Hamilton island. The luscious backdrop of palm trees, turquoise waters and lush vegetation helped me to destress automatically as soon as I set foot on this tropical island.
The island is normally run by golf carts however, for this event they transported us to our hotel via a slick, white Audi. We were greeted by Kit, who was so warm and informative and kept us company until we reached our hotel, Qualia. I quickly got dressed for the dinner prepared by Audi Ambassador: Guillaume Brahimi and what a night it was to remember! Day one: was INCREDIBLE! Let's see what day two will bring ;)!
In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
