Sydney Classic: China Doll
Food & Drink
Decided to pop by China Doll on a Monday evening after work with my favourite people and opted for the $85 banquet menu. China Doll's Chinese, Japanese and South East Asian menu is delicious to say the least. The restaurant is located on the Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf and has a spectacular view of the dusky harbour and vivid city skyline.
Having had a busy day I thought it'd be the perfect spot to hit up after work and i'm so glad we settled on this gem of a restaurant. I loved the blue-willow pattern on the feature wall and would highly recommend getting the banquet menu as it consists of a wide variety of dishes to share. It allows you not to devote mental energy on deciding what to order but leaving it up to the professionals. I absolutely adored the oysters, friend calamari, tea- smoked duck and san choy bau!
The cocktails were fun and incorporated seasonal fruits and fresh Asian ingredients. Perfect ambience, view and food - what's not to love?
In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
