Artomic: A World Full of Love, Full of Wonder
The room installation 'Atomic: full of love, full of wonder' is comprised of a mesmerising array of coloured balls by Nike Savvas. The optical illusion has 1000s of suspended vibrant balls moving gently from a breeze created by black fans on the wall of the gallery space.
I felt lucky to be able to experience this installation - one which celebrated kinetic art, opticality and eyesight in manipulation.
Inspired by the Australian landscape, Savvas recalls living in a colourless city of London and wished to transform the gallery space into one filled with colour. I love a good, immersive art piece which gets you thinking. Thank you for bringing such a beautiful art piece to NSW! By far my favourite art installation in Sydney! Go check it out now. In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
