The 5 Best Things to Do in South Africa
1. Neighbourgoods Market
73 Juta Street, Johannesburg 2001, South Africa
Open on a Saturday this is my go-to place on a weekend! If you're looking for a spot with great food, live music and flowing champagne then this is the spot to be! I'd highly recommend getting cocktails from Sumting Fresh as well as trying the bunny chow sold at the stalls. The meals are slightly pricer than most local places in Jozi however, this is an absolute gem in Jozi and should seriously be on everyones Local is Lekka bucket list!

2. Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve
520 Kromdraai Road, Kromdraai, Krugersdorp, 1739, South Africa
If you have time be sure to visit Krugersdrop and do a self drive safari adventure! The reserve is located 45 minutes from both Johannesburg & Pretoria. The internal roads are alsp all well maintained and are designed for a smooth driving experience of any vehicle on all the main roads of the nature reserve. If you aren't comfortable with driving - you are also welcome to go on a 1 to 2 hour game drive with an experienced guide.
The entry fee for an adult is R200 for SA residents ($20) and R300 ($30) for non SA residents for a self drive which can be purchased upon parking your car.
I spent the whole day here with my parents and was lucky enough to see a variety of cat species, buffalo, zebra, eland, wildebeest, sprinbuck and giraffes! The Reserve has more than 30 different species of animals.
3. Carlton Centre: Top of Africa
150 Commissioner St, CBD, Johannesburg, 2001, South Africa
This was my first time visiting the 50th floor of Carlton Centre - I've never had the opportunity to see the skyline of Johannesburg and I thought the city was absolutely incredible. The area is in dire need of repairs - however, for R30 ($3) this view is quite mind blowing to say the least.
4. Maboneng Drivelines Studio
213 Market St, Jeppestown, Johannesburg, 2001, South Africa
A new urban development using upcycled shipping containers has launched in Johannesburg’s Maboneng precinct. The idea it to create affordable housing in South Africa. Launched in 2014 and completed in September 2017 an apartment is available to rent for just R4900 ($490) a month.
5. Sandton City
Unit U61a, Sandton City, 83 Rivonia Rd, Sandhurst, Sandton, 2196, South Africa
This is my favourite shopping mall in South Africa. With a variety of high end and local brands, restaurants and cafes as well as a money exchange centre - this is a must-visit for lunch or dinner.
Lunch: Tashas in Nelson Mandela Square
Dinner: Butcher Shop &. Grill
Best steak house in South Africa! I've been coming here since I was a little girl!
Had the pleasure of staying at the Royal Silo in Cape Town - have a little sneak peak at my latest photo diary of my two night stay to celebrate my 33rd birthday bash!
