The Cutest Dinner Party Ever

I was fortunate enough to co-host the most unique party and workshop at China Heights Gallery located in Surry Hills this week with @hellomissmay & Samsung Australia. I have known Miss May for the last two years and was ecstatic to learn that we'd be working on the creative concept and styling of an extremely intimate dinner party for twelve. Trying to bring together the beautiful vivid colours which resonate so prominently in Miss May's creative along with my minimal aesthetic - one thing May and I had in common was our love for all things cute.
Upon arrival all our guests received a Galaxy Note8. They were encouraged to make use of the unique S Pen feature by doodling on their photos on the infinity display. Miss May and I spent some time teaching everyone how to make the most of the exciting features on the Galaxy Note8 from using Live Focus to taking images on the 12-megapixel lenses to using the S Pen.
Before my workshop started I also used the S Pen to create a quick moodboard to plan out each step for my panda sushi bento.
Samsung proudly supports a community of doers, creators, thinkers and talkers and this dinner paid tribute to some of the leading pioneers in the creative industry. People seldom realise the amount of time and energy creatives pour into their work and it was an absolute honour to have Samsung celebrate our achievements as Makers. The night was filled with so much banter and laughter as a table of creatives inspired one another through their personal and touching stories of what being a creative truly meant to them.
A special thank you to the incredible team at Samsung & We Are Social for bringing our vision to life and for taking the time to celebrate the top Makers of Australia. From artists, to bakers, to photographers, to fashion designers. Thank you for supporting our craft.
If ever there was a dinner party that would sum me up, it'd be this one in a heartbeat! Cheers #ToTheMakers
In an attempt to retain the grand, historic public rooms of the 1860s and 1920s - of which the Café Royal was famed for - these Grade II listed spaces have been carefully restored.
I had the pleasure of staying here for two nights - come and see my photo diary and what I got up to.
